Jackie changed the sport of baseball because for 58 years Major League Baseball was strictly white players only, and black people played in the Negro Leagues. They wouldn't judge a player on his talent, but on his skin color. Jackie changed all this and the sport is racially diverse to this day. He was the turning point that changed baseball forever. Today players from every race play Major League Baseball. There are Caucasian, African-American, Latino, and Asian all throughout the league thanks to Jackie Robinson.
